Kathirur Service Co-operative Bank launched a special savings scheme for women on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The She Savings Deposit Scheme was started by accepting deposits from one thousand women. The scheme was inaugurated by writer Dr. R. Athira.
At the function held in the bank hall, Director A. V. Beena presided over the event. The first savings bonds were handed over to Sudha Menachery, Prasanna Raghavan, Sajina, and Shreya.
Kathirur Panchayat President P. P. Sujaya, District Panchayat Member A. K. Shobha, Block Panchayat Member Sangeetha, and K. V. Shosna spoke at the event. Assistant Secretary N. Bindu delivered the welcome address, and Director Nafeesathul Misiriya expressed the vote of thanks.
At the Chonadam branch, the bank also honored its oldest customer Adiyeri Madhaviyamma by draping her with a ceremonial shawl and handing over the She Savings scheme bond.
On Women’s Day, the bank opened 1,217 new savings accounts across its various branches.
