Kathirur: Kathirur Service Cooperative Bank conducted an elephant foot yam harvesting programme at its farm.
Elephant foot yam was cultivated as an intercrop between the jackfruit saplings at the Jack Farm established on the bank’s own land. The bank is also planning to begin pepper cultivation on one acre of land.
The harvesting programme was inaugurated at the farm by Mr. M. Surendran, Chairman of Raidco, who handed over the harvested elephant foot yam to Mr. Karayi Vijayan, Chairman of the Agricultural Group.
The programme was presided over by Mr. Sreejith Choyan, President of Kathirur Service Cooperative Bank.
Mr. N. Sudheesh, Vice President of Panoor Block Panchayat, along with Mr. Ramachandran Master, Mr. M. Rajesh Babu, and Mrs. N. Bindu, also addressed the gathering.
