Farmers Achieve Self-Reliance: A Pride of Kathirur Bank

In the sweltering summer heat, when most fields lie barren, a remarkable story of agricultural success unfolded at Eravatti Vayal in Kathirur. With the support of Kathirur Service Co-operative Bank, a one-acre watermelon farm was cultivated and harvested with great success.

Varieties including Kiran, Sagar King, Mukkasa, Yellow Munch, and Naadan were among the watermelons harvested. Farmer Ranjith Eruvatti spearheaded the cultivation effort, with the goal of bringing chemical-free, healthy farm products to the market.
The bank’s president, Srijith Choyan, expressed pride in initiating such a venture. The harvest festival at Eravatti Vayal was inaugurated by N.G.O Union District Secretary K. Ranjith, with Srijith Choyan presiding over the event.

Ward members Karayi Vijaya, Samjyothi, and Governing Body member Mafeeda served as key participants. Secretary M. Rajesh Babu managed the proceedings, Governing Body member K. Suresh extended the welcome address, and farmer Ranjith Eruvatti expressed gratitude on behalf of all.
